Warrior for Life Fund Awarded the Platinum Seal of Transparency
The Warrior for Life Fund (WFLF) was awarded the 2024 Platinum Seal of Transparency, the highest level of recognition offered by Candid/GuideStar. WFLF focuses support to active duty, veterans, and their families through sport and community as they navigate the unique challenges of combat deployments and life after service. Utilizing an evidence-based and informed approach, WFLF creates an enduring environment of fellowship, fitness, and mental/cognitive health improvement that has a lasting impact on our members.
In 2024, the Warrior For Life Fund is poised to elevate and broaden its impact on the Naval Special Warfare community and the greater military community of the Hampton Roads, Virginia, area. Our commitment includes professionalizing and expanding existing hockey programs, establishing a San Diego-based Warrior For Life Fund presence, and growing programs at the WFLF Human Performance Center. These initiatives aim to enhance mental and cognitive health, strengthen community well-being, and provide resources to improve social determinants of health.
As part of our strategic approach, WFLF will forge new connections and strengthen existing relationships through notable events, such as the Boston Bruins Fundraising event and collaborative endeavors with NHL Alumni in Hockey Fundraising events. Additionally, our focus on mentoring, community outreach, and youth programs will be evident through Youth Hockey Clinics and partnerships with the Hampton Roads Youth Hockey Association (HRYHA) for Select Travel and Tournament Teams. By expanding and supporting these programs, the Warrior For Life Fund is dedicated to introducing, promoting, and sustaining the game of hockey while impacting the holistic well-being of our community members.
