Warrior For Life Fund Named Beneficiary of 2026 Run to Remember VB

Virginia Beach, VA — The Warrior For Life Fund (WFLF) has been named a beneficiary of the 2026 Run to Remember VB, a Memorial Day tradition honoring the 30 American service members killed on August 6, 2011, including members of the Naval Special Warfare community.
Run to Remember VB was conceived by four widows of Navy SEALs who were killed in action on that day. In the midst of profound loss, they chose gratitude and action, creating an event that brings the community together to honor the fallen and support organizations dedicated to caring for their families.
Held annually on Memorial Day at the Military Aviation Museum in Pungo, Virginia, the morning begins with the National Anthem and Presentation of Colors. At 8:06 a.m., in honor of the men lost on August 6, 2011, the 5K race begins, followed by a 1-Mile Kids Fun Run. The event continues with music, food, and fellowship.
As a 2026 beneficiary, the Warrior For Life Fund will direct proceeds toward strengthening comprehensive healing pathways for active‑duty service members, veterans, and their families. These funds will expand our year‑round hockey and community‑building programs; enhance mental performance, resilience training, and family‑centered support; and accelerate innovative, interdisciplinary care delivered through the Synapse Integrated Therapy Center. WFLF also remains deeply committed to supporting Gold Star spouses and children, ensuring they remain permanently woven into our community. Together, these efforts create structured, evidence‑informed pathways for connection, recovery, and long‑term wellbeing.
“The Warrior For Life Fund focuses support to active‑duty service members, veterans, and their families through sport, fellowship, and community as they navigate the unique challenges of combat deployments and life after service,” said Ryan Croley, Executive Director. “By integrating evidence‑based human performance, cognitive and mental health programming, and consistent opportunities for belonging, WFLF fosters an enduring environment that strengthens resilience and meaningful connection—delivering lasting impact to those we serve.”
